So the purpose of doing this is to just make the lamp darker?

I think it looks awesome. I'd love to give that a shot on my truck.

This is a neat idea and all.. but I still think chrome bulbs look much nicer..

IMO the black doesn't flow well with the rest of the headlight.. unless the entire turning signal chrome circle was painted black like IDNC and a few others.. otherwise, painting it black doesn't really change much at all.. aside from making an orange bulb, turn black..

either way, chrome bulbs are the way to go.. they blend in much more and have a very clean look to them.. besides.. with the money spent on spray paint and etc.. you'd be better off picking up a pair of chrome bulbs from ebay for under $15..

sorry for bashing your idea.. it just doesn't seem that practical compared to this..

If its a problem, why paint the top of the bulb black? Just leave it reflective silver. Paint the base black. You get the chrome look in the day and the "ring of light" at night (In theory)

hmm.. have you seen my truck lately?

anywho.. I'm the same way.. but I still think my headlights look pretty clean.. throwing a black dot in the middle of the turning signal throws it all off..

of course I would have blacked out all of my headlights, but then that kinda defeats the purpose of having headlights.. maybe you could just paint the chrome circle for the turning signal all black

I think it looks good. When I install my oem HD's I'm going to do this. It should look killer w/the black reflector in the HD's along with "The Ring of Light".

Awesome job gixxer

Your truck is killer. If you do anything to your truck, I will shoot you. - Og

Well if you don't like the black bulb then do the exact same thing but paint it silver.
