Heated Seats, Just ordered two

Ok so i ordered these seat warmers. Im ok with everything but the fuse tap part. So you got a "tap" that you plugged into a 10amp fuse, so that old fuse and another fused for the seat warmers can be used? Where exactly can I get one of these. Ive been looking online but Im not sure exactly what this piece is, or what it looks like. Thanks... fyi, I googled fuse tap but Im not sure what im looking for/at.
Is this what I need? I plug that into the fuse spot, add another fuse then run the wires to that red wire sticking out? Or would I be ok, just pushing the wire into a 10amp fuse space, then pushing the fuse back in?

By that ADD A FUSE you found.. http://www.bussmann.com/images/3c2dc...86ccd13aad.JPG, this is exactly what it is... you can add one fuse and replace the fuse you took out to put this in place. Then simply use the red wire to tap power. Your set.

Ok well I installed the heated seats. Took about 2.5 hours and was really quite simple. You dont have to remove the leather completely, you can slide the heating element under the leather through the opening at the bottom of the back rest, and the back of the butt rest. Got the wax paper off too, so they wont be sliding around. Then I just ran the wires to the dash and dremeled two holes for the switches next to my cig lighter, and ran the other wires to the fuse box and connected them (without a tap) to a 10amp fuse, think it was the aux fuse. Grounded the wire to the seat, and bam they work. They turn off when the truck is off, which is a good thing, took me three fuses to get the right one. All in all, pretty easy, worth while mod.

When I redo my Mustang leather seats, I will be sure to add a set in there as well. I have a 93 Vert and even in the summer at night with the top down, it gets chilled.

did you route the wires under the carpet? That was a PIA for me to do with my headrests (getting over the middle hump). How did you tap into the fuse box? How did you get the wires around the back of it?

wsup man where have you been? If you scroll up you will see the fuse tap that some have used to get this job done even though pics would be better

Hey Mason how are the quads holding up, I've been drooling over the ones in your sig. I've been out of commission with the DUI taking hold of my finances. Anyhow, the guy a few posts above mentioned he did not use a tap?

If you are doing the two front seats in a truck that has the center console, then you will be fine running the wires and hiding them nice.
I did not run my power wires from behind the fuse panel, more from the bottom into the front of the panel. There is plenty of room and the install is really really easy to do.

I have an fx4 so i have the center console. I ran the wires from under the seat and was able to push them under the plastic from the center console. Ran them up near the fire wall and fed them up to the cig lighter area. Its big and open once you get the plastic piece off that covers the radio etc... Then I ran the wires to the fuse box up along the fire wall and under the carpet. I pulled out, I think number 22 fuse (10amp) and tapped into there. Its almost like they expect you to tap wires into the fuses because there area small circular areas by the little slits for the fuse, so a wire can be pushed in there. So I pushed the wire in there and put the fuse back in. I do plan on getting a "fuse tap" or an add a fuse thing, but this works for now. I'll get pics posted up tomorrow.

Now that you guys have had this for a while, any issues. I would like to order now but wanted to make sure everything was all good. Also does anyone have a pic of there fuse box so I can see which fuses you guys choose for the tap

No issues at all.. they are great.. I use them everyday up to about 55 degrees.. even then if it is night time and not so warm without the sun.. I will turn them on low. I love being able to take off my jacket and not be restricted in movement but still be toasty in the seat.
We snowmobile and it does wonders on the back after a ride. My wife loves them and we will make sure they are in every vehicle I have now.
My wife just bought the 2010 Fusion SEL with leather and got heated in that.. she loves them.
