FINALLY Deer Hole Fixed +Nu Wheels/Tires/udder stuff

oh my god waiting for this to be finished was about the longest wait ever.

Thanks much to Zeruin for the photo-chop-shop input, and Wandell for the info he gives best

First, it WILL be going back into the body shop next month. There are several issues with the paint job the guy did but at least he knows he's redoing most of it.

He painted my new bumper cover & front passenger door (deer damage), driver's door (stupid people in parking lots), and tailgate (small dents of unknown origin), and the color is darker green than the aspen green on the rest of the truck. When I picked it up, he pointed it out and said if it didn't lighten up to match he'd redo it...which he most certainly will.

Also, there is an odd orange-peel texture to the lower parts of the body panels he painted, along with 2 or 3 specks of either debris, or possibly very small air bubbles, also on the lower parts of the panels.

The tailgate though...oh my god I was sooo disappointed when the weather cleared enough 2 weeks later and I could wash it properly, and inspect it well in the sun, the tailgate has at least 3 LARGE air bubbles and peeling paint around the emblem and along one side - I COULD scrape those bubbles and paint off with my fingernail.

Sorry, but the tailgate is as large as a billboard and should be immaculate in my opinion.

Aside from the disappointing paint job and knowing I'll have to get yet another freakin rental, the rest of the nu stuff is AWESOME

Pro Comp Xtreme Alloys Series 6005 Chromes, with BFG AT T/A KOs 33x18, & a 2" A/S level kit, oh and new flares :

(couldn't help myself and added some harley tails, too )

And the new grille (entire piece replacement) and bumper grille:

uhm, and the new dual DVD headrests for a Mark LT, and YES the dark brown piping matched the interior PERFECTLY, as did the tan leather!

ah, haha, funny how much stuff a lil' deer can screw up

SO sorry for the not-so-great pics, using iphone camera -

AND - before anyone asks, I do have my factory stuff (entire honeycomb grille & surround, wheels w/aftermarket tires, headrests, fender flares, etc) and yeah I will be getting rid of them!

I have to get stinkin mud flaps I guess, living down a dirt road about a mile, it gets too dirty even though the tires don't really stick out much - I guess it doesn't take that much. I'll cry too over rock chips on the new (read:expensive) paint cr*p. btw - I HATE flaps. oh well. hate chips & scratches, too.

ya, he better fix it RIGHT or he'll be refunding me some $$$$ to take it somewhere else. I'm giving him a chance to fix it because he IS really nice, honest, and people around here speak highly of his work...he told me & my husband when we went to pick it up that the weather that week (snowy/raining/etc) had a lot to do with it, but ... I dunno about the ripple texture near the bottom of the panels, and the job on the tailgate is completely unacceptable.

I would have never dreamed that JUST the level/wheels/tires would make this much difference - with the new grilles, I've had several folks who have seen me driving this truck since the day I drove it off the lot ask me if I just went ahead and got a NEW truck! And this one is 4 1/2 yrs old now!

Re: headrests - I got mine off eBay, I don't have a clue if they make them in solid black, but they ARE TERRIFIC at keeping the kids very very happy, and allow me to listen to MY stuff, because they use the headphones. It's FABULOUS!!! Cost me about $200 for the install locally.

NONE at ALL THANK YOU!!! Geez, that was the EASIEST part I bought, I nearly forgot about it HAHA!

LOL it's kinda funny how much truck crap I've had stuck in corners of our bedroom & my husband's shop for the last 3-ish months haha he says he thought HE was supposed to be the one stashing truck stuff in corners...

Now we still got stuff stashed...

thanks! I feel like I'm driving a new truck...strange what some new stuff on an "old" vehicle can do!
