I'm in the same boat. I have an FM transmitter, but I absolutely hate it. I'm starting to lean towards getting a newer OEM Navi HU, but if these adapters work well I'd have to take pause.

Do the stock HU controls work well with the Ipod? My friend has one of those in his Toyota, but it takes him forever to scroll through his music through the HU....and I have a buttload of music.

Did you ever make a decision?

...sorry to bump an old thread.

I have the peripheral ipod interface on my stock audiophile system and the sound quality is great. The controls are so-so. I have over 5K songs on my ipod and its easier to unplug it and use the click wheel to find what I want to hear then plug it back in. Using the radio buttons to control the ipod is too time consuming and cumbersome.

Check out the BrandMotion units. Looks to be better control with hu.

Stealth you mentioned getting new front door speakers. I have a set of Diamond Audio 5x7s for sale. I listed them in the classified and on Ebay. Here's a link if interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=110346430450

I am running the PIE frd04 aux in mine, I did a rca to 1/8 plug, then a jack to jack(soldered up myself) through the dash right next to the cigarette lighter under the HVAC controls. It sounds awesome, I lost no functions and it was relatively cheap and very easy to do.
Sorry for the crappy pic from my old Treo

I have a Brandmotion iPod adapter for sale in the 04-08 classifieds forum. But the connection harness is only good if you have the factory satellite receiver in your truck.

no it won't...it is merely an RCA jack that uses the headphone output from the iPod/iPhone to the radio itself.
