Thanks again everyone for the comments!
Yeah, you probably pulled off on Tramway right before entering the pass, or if going west it would have been Nine Mile Hill as both give you great views of the city.
No, I had forgotten about the McGards....thanks man, I'll get some soon! And yes, the light tabs are behind the bar and looks cleaner IMO.
I thought the views looked familiar...I didn't notice you were from Albuquerque NM until this last photo.
Im sure they have probably built it up since but there used to be a place in the 80's going west I think, after you went thru town and started steeply going up in the mountains where you could get off the freeway I-40 and look back down on Albuquerque from elevation. Back then it was just a dirt hill off the freeway but many people would get off and enjoy the view.
Do you know the place?

Thanks. I will have to find a wall, like the side of Walmart, and see what I can do.
One other question. Did you buy the PIAA locks by McGard for your lights? I got them on eBay and I like them a lot. They hide the bolt and nut underneath a large steel cone and really cleans up the look, along with keeping sticky-fingered people from taking them.
It looks like the mounting tabs are behind the light bar on the Randy Ellis bar. You can see that on the N-Fab bar, the mounting tabs are in front of the bar.

Thanks. Just bought the house about 6 months ago. It was appraised at $680K but I got a great deal on it due to the real estate bust. It is actually a two level with just over 5000 sf and 1/3 acre; the bottom level walks out to the rear yard which sits on a bluff. I still have my old house along the Rio Grande and it appraised just under $1 million with 4200 sf and over an acre of property in the cottonwoods, but nobody is buying in that price range right now so I am just holding it. <ugh>
Sounds to me like you're making the smart moves. Best of luck.
