Man, don't let it snow. People will rush to the store to stock up a couple of week's worth of water, canned foods, and bread. Even though, snow never sticks for more than a couple of days here.

Haha, im from upper michigan, and i know what cold weather, and lots of snow is like, and i love it! Well im stationed down here in lower georgia, about 5 miles away from the florida border.. Its so funny in the spring and fall here, even winter time, when its in the 50's or 60's, even the 70's sometimes and people are dressed up in their coats, with winter hats and gloves and boots on!! And here i am walking around in my shorts, tee shirt and flip flops, heading to the beach!!!! haha It got down in the 20's here last night, still not that cold to me, but evenone else here is hating life! lol

Its about 45* F out right now in the day time, and i still have the A/C running on the ship!! my shipmates hate me for it too

I forgot to look what the temp was this morning, but a town about miles away was -40 (air temp), they didn't say a wind chill. But the radio station was reporting a temp of -35 and wind chill of -48. I havn't started either of the trucks up since this past weekend, but my GMC work van has been making a bunch of noises that I have never heard before.

And I thought 0 degrees with a -10 wind chill was bad. That bites.

Wow I feel bad for you guys. It's gotta suck being so cold all the time. Down here is Florida the high is 60 for the next week I was washing my truck outside in shorts when you all are covered in snow.

I don't see how you guys up north stand that stuff. It was between 7 and 12 degrees this morning at 8:30. My fingers were already cold by the time I got the truck loaded up with firewood to take to a customer. I'm ready for my 60's to come back.!!! The only reason why I like this cold is to kill of some of the bugs for the next summer. We have some hunting land in kentucky and would hate to be up there right now!!

Ahh... It's all what you make of it man, it can be so much fun in the snow with the truck. Plus being with your girl next to a warm fire while your looking threw the window at your F150 doesn't hurt.

Honestly as long as there is no wind -10 really isn't that bad, +20 and 10mph wind feels worse. A couple weeks ago we were setting trusses when it was around -10, I just put a hand warmer in the nail bag with my 16d nails so that way I didn't freeze my bare hand when grabbing the nails and also could warm up my hand. I would rather put up with the cold temps and snow of winter than 90+deg and humid that we get in the summer. But thats just me.

Uhm, don't feel so bad. It's actually not cold "all the time".

I happen to love the seasonal changes. I lived in Tampa for 4 years when I was in the AF. Nice place, but I missed the season changes, the trees changing color, the deep snow that makes a 4x4 worth its weight in gold....

What I don't miss from Tampa are the lovebugs, the ridiculous humidity and the constant rain in the afternoons. Oh, and the hurricanes/tropical storms.

To each his own. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely HATE the state of IL. But the $$ is great and my wifes family & friends are all within 10-20 miles. If I had it my way I would live in TX or CO for sure!
