You don't need a leveling kit to fit 33'' tires. If you plan on putting Bilsteins, just keep your money and run the 33'' without a leveling kit.

Here's my truck when it was stock with 33''

I posted this just last week and a few others stated the same happened to them, so not every truck is the same. He could go with a 2.5" kit and end up with it being 3/4" - 1" higher in front....who knows.
a 305/65/18 is a 33.5/12/18...ever so sorry I was off by 1/2" in height. I mistook that size for a 305/60/18...which is just shy of 33".

still think he could make them work on a 4x4 without any mods. it's worth a try, and if they rub, it would only be a temp issue until the Leveling kit arrived.

You make a very valid point RMS8. It would suck for a guy to install a 2" kit and get more lift than he expected. I remember your thread, and something isn't right there. The 04-08 trucks are identical in the front....but the rear has some differences depending on year and tow package.

could you do me a favor. snap a pic of your coil-overs. I'm betting you have a 2.5" installed on your truck...not a 2"...might have ordered 1 thing, and gotten another.

this is what my 2.5" AS looks like installed. You can just barely see the lower edge peeking from beneath the upper perch. I highlighted it with red

Yours look any similar?

thanks for the pics Pat. That looks/looked pretty nice. I'm a fan of less wheel well space myself. Not too keen on having huge amounts of space like I currently do.

***** !

Once the front was aligned and I had a couple dozen miles on it I actually did go through the recycle bin and dig up the box they came in. I wondered the same thing myself. It had 2" printed on the side....but anything is possible. I'll try and snap a pic tomorrow.

EDIT: I went into the garage and snapped them just now.....

it's worth a look. a 2" kit won't show beneath the coil-over perch

yeah I'd say you got the 2.5'' kit...any chance you got a measurement of the kit itself?

rms, i love your truck. how come you keep the mud flaps on tho? and i read somewhere that the 04-05 would sit level w/ a 2 1/2" and a 06-08 would sit level for a 2". it might have been visa versa but that was a general rule of thumb i read somewhere. 04-05 have 1 more leaf in the pack as well i believe. my dads and sisters screws (06 & 08) have 2 1/2" kits and are barely nose high

They provide a bit of additional security from small rocks getting caught in the treads and flung back onto the body and chipping it.

Can anyone with a 2" spacer take a pick of it installed like the ones posted above? Just curious to see how much, if any is exposed?
