New guy looking for some input

I am in the market for a 150, '06 - '08, FX4 or Lariat, crewcab. My question is what are the major differences between the FX4 and Lariat packages?

So far this is what I can tell:

1. Insturment Gauges
2. I have noticed on most FX4's I have looked at you don't get the Digital Info Center (is this really important?)
3. Shocks
4. Skid Plates

Anything else I should be aware of in making my decision?

Thanks for any input

Also the lariats and FX4 luxury packages have steering wheel mounted radio and heat controls, where the standard FX4 package doesn't.

But for the most part what you posted is correct. As for the info center, my FX4 doesn't have it, and its fine by me. I still have the temp and compass, and my Edge displays instant mpg and average mpg.

The lariat and FX4 luxury packages have almost identical options. So it comes down to what interior and gauge layout you like the best.

Cloth seats, becareful, they stain extremely easy and 3-brake light that causes that water leaking damaged into the cabin, i bought mine used with 45k in october or so, and as soon as i got it, that happened! but oh well i plan on replacing the interior since all my seats have gotten stained. (Even from getting in with a wet jacket)

The obvious but major difference....

4 wheel drive is standard on the FX4. It is optional on the Lariat.

I have loved the FX4's since they started making them so it was an easy choice for me. The ride is nice and smooth, and you cant beat the good looks of an FX4. The information center really is a load of crap to me, my brother has it in his 08' and i really dont care for it. You have to scroll through everything and to me it just is worthless. The FX4 cluster just looks better anyway and I think has a much better feel and layout. I dont like the speedo being smack in the middle like in the lariats. If you want something classy go with a lariat, if you want something sporty go with an FX4. You cant go wrong with either but im a little biased

well said

it's all just interior choices. I like the FX4 theme, the offraod package rocks, and you get a super cool sticker. I'm young enough to be stupid, but old enough to not destroy it

Lariat is cool, but it makes me feel 10yrs older...wood grain

I like my woodgrain and I consider myself young (mid 20s).

Guys,

I am still in the market as I seem to have bad luck and miss out on all the deals. I have stumbled across an '05 FX-4, Crew Cab, Leather and all the fixins. 59K miles...

Is there anything to be cautious with on the '05's?

Thanks for the input!

I've got an 05 and no problems. Just get it checked out, Carfax it. And check KBB and here, as far as the price and what you should pay.
