That's the correct part number. Was the back of your truck ever lowered?

No, I am calling Bilstein Monday morning and seeing what they say. It may sound like I am whining about the ride....but it is stiff!

Are the 5100's ride height adjustable or just a fixed lift?

They are adjustable, from 0"-2".

So if its too high, cant you just lower it some so that it sits where you want it?

No, you either get 0" of lift or 2" no in between.

Yes, you can go 1", the strut has 3 grooves in the body, one for 0", one middle for 1" and the last for 2".

Mine is set at 2" and I have more than 3" of lift, something is wrong and I will figure it out sooner or later.

Possible cause of the problem with the struts....I have the wheel off now and check the part # and it is BE5-C300-H1.....not H0

anyone know the difference in the two?

It's an RCD number, but it's still the proper part number for your truck.

H0 vs H1 should be the valving code. Same shock with different valving. If I were to guess from your complaint, H1 is stiffer than H0.

On the 7100s, generally speaking, the higher the number the stiffer the shock.

Just an update, the problem is solved. Spoke to Bilstein on Monday, very helpful and polite people. It turns out that the passenger side lower spring seat was upside down. I never noticed it because I had only taken off the driver side wheel to inspect, but the passenger side was raising the entire front end and causing the rough ride!

Measurements now are front=36.25" and rear=36.5", ride is MUCH better and I am happy.

Thanks for the help everyone.
