Fogs and High beams

I have heard a few different ways to achieve both fog and high beams at the same time. A buddy just sent me this and said this is the best way to do it. Before I did, I wanted to see what you guys thought..............

Looks pretty simple and effective. I don't see any problems with doing that. Go for it!

they ain't an easier way to do this? i remember on my ranger i cut cut one of those tabs off and it let the high and fogs stay on too. not that this one is hard to do. i'm assuming this is the same as a 07? i know they didn't use a ground or something different in 07+??? anyone?

that's the way I did it, it was easy but you have to remeber to cut off a little piece of plastic in the fuse box, you will see what I'm talkin about when you do it.

I did that mod when I converted to HIDs. I haven't had any problems with it since. Definitely worth the 10 min it takes to do it. Those were the exact directions I follow, and the directions I send to people when they need to do this conversion.

Actually there is, I installed The Bright Box (part #8+FLC) mod to mine. It's a simple plug in and play installation. Another plus for this is it also keeps the Low Beams on at the same time too. I installed it in my truck around 6 months ago and love it. Around the same time, I did the 9005 Silverstar ultras in the fogs and the H13 Silverstar headlights

I haven't had a problem yet. It does work on the 07s too.I'm not sure what relay they are using, the box is sealed. However after posting that I searched for their # and gave them a call because I want to add this to the wife's Bonneville now. They don't list one anywhere but after speaking with Joel @909-971-0000 he informed me they now have a kit for her car but it hasn't been released to the stores yet. He did say he would sell me one though

I have found when running the high and low beams(on a different truck) at the same time that I went through a few bulbs....i think it gets a little hot in there doing that?? I decided not to do that on this truck. Now I just do the high beams or the low beams with the fog lights.

Daybreak,
I've had that mod (from the same web page) on the to-do list for over a year now. Finally did it this past Saturday. It was as easy as it sounds. I picked up another relay from the local dealership so I could switch them out if I need to for some reason.

The part number was the only "hassle" that I had because of the parts department. I brought in my relay from my '06, but also wrote down the part number that was pictured in the link above, "F57B-14B192-AA". They are different because the relay in my '06 doesn't have a pin #4, but the relays will function the same because pin #4 isn't hooked to anything in the junction box. The parts department didn't have the part number for the relay in my '06, so I asked them to see if they had the other one in stock, which they did, but they were reluctant to hand it over because they said it was different and wouldn't work. Finally convinced them otherwise and the rest of the modification was easy. As mentioned in the link, the relay with the pin bent over and a spade bent over won't fit back in because of some plastic in the fuse box that needs to be shaved down (only a very little bit).
