Fogs and High beams
I did the change the OP listed about 1.5 years ago and it works great. No issues.
as for the other option...
it might be "easier" but its 80 bucks. The change the OP listed is free if you have some wire in the garage... or maybe 2 bucks if you need to buy wire and connectors. Plus you then have to replace your bulbs regularly... no thanks.
But I fully recommend the fog light mod. Its great.

Actually there is, I installed The Bright Box (part #8+FLC) mod to mine. It's a simple plug in and play installation. Another plus for this is it also keeps the Low Beams on at the same time too. I installed it in my truck around 6 months ago and love it. Around the same time, I did the 9005 Silverstar ultras in the fogs and the H13 Silverstar headlights
But I fully recommend the fog light mod. Its great.

For those of you asking if the ground wire mod will work on an '06, YES it will. I just came in from the garage, where I did the mod. As a previous member posted, the '06 relay has one less pin, but it doesn't affect anything. Just ground the corresponding one as shown in the pic.
The mod was very simple. I even took it a couple steps further, and drilled a 9/64" hole in the top right side of the fuse box, to allow a clean exit for the ground wire, and secured the slide connector to the relay with some electrical tape, for added assurance. No need to drill the cover, if you locate the box exit hole in the upper most right corner, as there is a 45 degree cutout, already in place on the cover. Honestly, I am not sure how guys are replacing the cover, and not pinching the wire, if no wire exit hole is drilled!? Take your time, make solid connections with the proper electrical connectors, and this mod will serve you well. Thanks for the idea, guys!

Yeah it pulls right off. Pull from the bottom. The cover actually says "Pull" at the bottom.
yea me too. last time i did this mod on my ford ranger, i broke the tab off the relay and the dam thing wouldn't start
Yea I was real careful when I was bending the terminal. The last thing I wanted was to break it off. But all went well and I'm driving around with the high's and fogs together, very nice.
I try to keep the stupid questions to a minimum and I feel like a COMPLETE idiot for asking this, but what pin are you supposed to be bending back? Everyone seems to understand these instructions except for me. Thanks.

but on the 07 and 08's there is only 2 pins on the top (the red line is pointing to the one that is missing on the 07/08) so if your holding relay in your hand, pin's facing down, the pin on the right side gets bent over.
