Which HID brand? (JUST brand!)
Which HID brand? (JUST brand!)
I have been searching the threads for the past week and have gotten some mixed information regarding the quality of certain brands of HID kits. What I'm looking for is firsthand (hopefully) experience with whichever manufacturer you have used. I hope there are others out there with the same want as me that will benefit from this thread.PLEASE don't turn this into a regular/bi-xenon or 4300K/5000K/6000K discussion.......ONLY the manufactur
er and where to find them!Cheers!

, I can confirm that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of HID4U on eBay.
I don't know what happened to all of his posts. There used to be a long thread on here somewhere about retro-solutions.com. Anyway, that's where I got my lights and had plenty of support and a life-time warranty. They look great and when I switched cars he just had me pay shipping for free new bulbs!
Ordered some DDM Tuning kits. Should be here Friday. They look great on my little brother's 08 Honda Civic and my other brother's 07 BMW 335. Ordered 55W H13 6000K for the headlights and 35W H10 5000K for the fogs. Apexcone 3/4 ballasts.
shortly to be on my truck, once i get the drop done.

What exact kit did you order? The price seems awefully cheap, but you say they are a good brand? I would like to get some too, thats why I ask. Do you have to wire them yourself?
I ordered the Apexcone 35W/55W Full Size Ballast HID Kit. H13 55W 6000K for the headlights and H10 35W 5000K for the foglights. They said that the 55W kit has some color wash out and so a 55W 6000K set will have the same color as a 35W 5000K set. I ordered them a week and a half ago when they were $5 cheaper. The 55W kit was $55,a nd the 35W kit was $40.

The H13s should be here tomorrow. The H10s should be here maybe Friday. Not sure why they didn't ship the same day, but oh well.
They are plug-n-play so there's no need for wiring or splicing. I'll post pix as soon as I install them. Knowing me, they'll be on within the hour of arrival. LOL.

I am a skeptical person by nature, especially when it comes to stuff like this. But with a lifetime warranty, I'll take the chance. On top of that, they have had a reputable track record on the BMW forums.
Yeah I ordered a set of HID's just like everyone was getting on here because they were cheap and they lasted about 2 months. I ordered a good set from retro-solutions after having a couple of conversations with Todd, the owner.
Didn't your retro HIDs give you trouble at first? I thought they didn't work properly. My "cheapo" HID4U ones have been trouble free for 1.5 years.
