Interesting...but I think a standard key and keyless fob would be less bulky in your pocket than that one. It looks kinda bulky to me, even when retracted.

I've driven an Acura with one of those keys. It's not necessary to retract a key. It gains unnecessary bulk.

The next improvement in a key comes in the key that uses a start button. I had one of those in a Lexus a few weeks ago and I think it is a great concept. You keep the key in your pocket and start the vehicle.

My parents VW looks alot like that. I wouldn't mind if Ford would come out with something like that from the factory, but I wouldn't pay $45 it.
