I don't have stock sensors since mine's a 2005. And yes, the sensors work independently of the valve, but the valve was needed to secure the sensor in my case, therefore I was forced to mount both with the strap. I mounted them 180 degrees from the stem hole, and it balanced out no problem, only taking as little as 2.5 ounces on one wheel.
With my system I get real-time display of pressure and temperture from all tires at once.

Yeah, but that's the price of toy's right? My aftermarket system wasn't too expensive. I paid more for the Smartire system I bought 5 years ago when I ordered the truck than I did for this one.

looks much better than your previous wheels. I love this truck and color. I think I told you before but when I was truck hunting back in 07, the dark Amyehst and the truck I have now are the two I was debating between. I like your truck BUT I would change one thing if it was mine. I would lose the pinstripe.
