Hi all,
First post. I have an 08 F150 with 5.4 motor, auto trans and electric transfer case it doesn't want to shift into 4 wheel drive(HI or LO). It used to work till I had the dealer check the transmission for funny shifting they ran a test everything is supposed to be good. Could they have by passed the switch some how, it doesn't light up on the dash or seem to do anything. Dealer can't help till tuesday and it's snowin now, any Ideas fuses or connections?

I would climb under it, and check the electrical connections on the transfer case and actuator motor. Chances are the dealer may have disconnected something when testing, and maybe forgot to reconnect it.

 

Hit the actuator motor on the T-case and see if that helps. If it does, it is most likely just a short term fix and the motor will most likely have to be replaced. But it may atleast help get it working for now.

 

I just ran into this issue with my 2006. Smacked the acuator with my tire iron a few times and it started working.

 

Throw two bags of 70# tube sand in the back and have the dealer look at it Tuesday morning.
