Help 04 FX4

I have a 04 FX4 Screw. Twice now when I come to a stop my throttle sticks and keeps reving the engine. Today it almost put me through a building. Both times has been when the engine cold and about 5 degrees celcius out. What is wrong with my baby??

5 degrees Celcius is pretty cold (roughly 13 degrees Farenheit) did you warm your truck up at all (I know you said its a cold engine but maybe how cold is the answer)? Its been 25 degrees Farenheit or below most mornings here lately and I've been warming the truck up for 5-10 minutes just to get the temp guage to move up a little).

Cool

I wasn't trying to be a jerk...there is just a big difference between 13 deg F and 41 deg F...not that we actually get these temps very often in So Cal...its all good though.

dude I didn't think you were being I jerk, I was making fun of myself. My feeble math skills frequently get me in trouble and I almost always check myself with the calculator, almost always...

I also have a 2001 F150. Ford article No. 01-21-5. Idle-high idle speeds- throttle sticks after steady state driving in extreme cold ambient temperatures-vhicles bult through 11/01/01 equipped with 5.4L engine.
Engine-5.4L-PCBsystem icing-vhicles built through 11/01/01
There should be a recall, but there is not. Dealership wanted 800.00 to fix their poor design. Please report your problem to the Nation Auto Safety at once. It almost killed me. This is a common problem with these engines most people got it fixed under warranty but some of us did not experience the conditions that cause the problem until warrenty was up.

please go troll elsewhere Paulette

the 04+ use an electronic throttle...aka...IT CAN'T GET STUCK VIA MECHANICAL LINKAGES

but it can go wierd due to a PCM malfunction...or the driver is hitting the gas while holding the brakes
