Are you planning on running any sort of leveling kit at all?

You could get a 305/50/20 they should fit without a problem, most of the tires this size are street tires. The next step would be a 305/55/20 they might fit, the reason that I say might is because they are around 33.5" tall. If they do fit I think that you will have to do some trimming.

As for 17's a 275/70/17 (32")and 285/70/17's (a little less then 33") will both fit. I don't know if anything larger will.

Here is my truck with that rim and 285/65/20 tires. I have a 2.5" level kit and with this setup have no rubbing issues at all. Not sure how big of a tire you could run without some sort of front end lift.
