Not sure if the Mark LT has cooled seats for a seat swap.

My dad's LS and Aviator have cooled/heated seats. The only thing with the cooled seats are that the leather has tiny holes to let the air out. I wish I had cooled seats in my truck. On hot days the cooled seats are awesome. No matter how cold it is in you vehicle your back still gets sweaty. Not with AC seats. You actually don't even need the AC on as much.

I will look a little more into how much work it would be, but now I am considering installing the heated/cooled seats at least in the front two captains chairs.
Let me know what you hear or find.

Well after talking to a few Ford guys at local dealership, it sounds like it would be best to try and find seats already completed cooling in them. There is duct work that will need to be ran along with some control modules. The leather will need to be perforated to allow air flow through them. But other then all that stuff it just runs off the vehicles a/c. I will keep searching and see if it is a realistic possibility or just wishful thinking. As of right now its starting to sound more like the later....

Materials for a do it yourself kit X(3) looks like it will cost right around $300. This is doing the full back seat.

I contacted a local auto-upholsterer to see how much they would charge me to add heat in the rear seat, all three seating areas. They said parts and labor would run $650 and they could have it done in one day.

Am I crazy??? I'm thinking of talking the wife into buying me this for Xmas.

I don't mean to be selfish here, but I could really care less if the people in the rear have heated seats or not.

Its not crazy if this is what you want. I don't know about that price though. I would call around and get some more quotes b4 deciding. Honestly, I would just do it my self and save some money. Where's the page of the kits you were looking at.

I don't have a garage and it's not the right time of the year to be doing this in the driveway.

I will call around more, but the place I called usually always seem to have better prices from past experiences.

just wondering why you guys haven't considered taking the Expy/Navi seats...for the A/C anyways.

they look identical to the front leather versions...so I would think they'd bolt right up. then it would be just a matter of running some A/C ductwork under the carpeting.

and there is already some A/C duct work there...so it might almost be a plug n' play. the Airbag sensor could be a problem though

Heat and massage

Heres the thing not only can it be done but it can be done in both seat for 30 bucks. Go to Wal-mart (or other) store and get a pair of the cusions things you put over office chairs for heat and massage. CAREFULLY cut the things open to get the 4 or 5 motors and the heat elements out. now simply remove you factory ford seat covers, cut out the seat foam so that the vibration motor sit flush with the contour of the seat and tape dowwn the perimeter of the heating elements with duct tape. keep in mind some of the wires may have to be extended for optimal placement of the motors. now run you wires out the side of the seat you dont see hook up the power and enjoy. did this on my 97 f150 and people thought it was factory and very cool. takes about a days worth of work but def worth it
