Edge Owners Help

I went to go install my edge on my 08 I just purchased last night. It was the edge I had on my 2005, It works fine, but I can't seem to get the side panel off to route the wire to the recommended location. I don't have the owners manual for the edge anymore, can someone please tell me the best way to remove the panel?

Just pull it. They're hard the first time.

It seriously feels like it's about to break doesn't it? Just keep jerking on it, the panel that is!

Thanks guys. It really did feel like it was going to break so I stopped, but after your advice I went back and got it in. I used a big screwdriver for some added leverage, right at the clip points and they just popped out.

Ok so I have another question.

My edge wasn't turning on every time I was starting my truck. Called edge and they said it needed to be updated. Tried on my laptop, but it is running vista, edge said it needs to be an XP computer. So I pulled out my old desktop to update it. Downloaded the software and tried to update. It wouldn't let me, gave a 404 error. So I updated the computer with all available updated, uninstalled lightning and re-installed it. Re-booted the computer, and tried again. When I connect it, it checks for updates, says they are available. I click ok to install, IE opens and it gives me a security warning. I click OK to continue and it gives me the 404 error again. What do I need to do in security settings to fix this, or do I need to change something else? Thanks for your help.

Try using Vista anyways. It couldn't hurt you know.

Vista updates my Gryphon without any problems, tho you may have to disable the User Account Control to allow it to connect. I'm assuming you have downloaded all the necessary drivers for the Edge loader?

What is the part number of your Edge module? When I got my '08 F-150 I had to upgrade my Edge from the old part number (including the cable) to the new part number. Edge support was great...they exchanged it at no cost to me.

I just got off the phone with Edge, and I'm going to have to send mine in to edge as well. They said they'd do a firmware update, replace the cable and make it work. Customer support has been great so far.

Glad it is going well for you. Edge was great when I called. Sounds like you're having the same good experience I had.
