Hid help!

I have tried to research this but just havent found the exact answer I am looking for. I am switching to 8000k hids. I am getting them from HID4U on ebay. I just want to know what bulb i need to get for my fogs. I also want to double check that the h13 bulbs are correct for the heads. Thanks A lot guys

Yes H13 is the correct bulb for the headlights...i would get bi-xenon if you could, i didnt, and am regretting it.

for the fogs, many will debate 9145 vs. 9005:

9145 is the proper bulb type for the foglights in the truck (its whats already in there)

9005 is actually a high beam headlight that fits in the factory light inlet and works....much much brighter...this is what i have.

Be warned, SOME people have had issues with the 9005 foglights melting the housing because of too much heat generated, i have had no such problems. If you do choose 9005, make sure to get the 35 watt and not the 55 watt. Enjoy!

pic added for headlight to 9005 foglight comparison: both are 4300K

yes i know i have glare...but i never get flashed by oncoming traffic, nor do i care hah

No, each bulb has to diff. type numbers (not sure why) but H13 = 9008, HB3 = 9005, H10 = 9145 and so on.

So you would need H13 (or 9008) for the headlights, and HB3 (or 9005) for foglights

Just my opinion - 8000K will be very very blue, have you seen actual light output from 8000k HID's in an F150 housing? The color is nice, but output is poor. Visibility will be poor on dark roads (ie: no street lights)

I have just ordered a set of 3000k 9005 bright yellow HID's for my fogs, should be in around 10-14 days. Gives it a little better "euroish" look

Good luck with your purchase

I've had my kit (bixenon 6k) from Xenoneyes for a year, works perfect.

My 6k kit for my fogs is on it's way.

Steer clear of the Beamer HID kits too, mine burnt up 3 blubs and 4 Ballasts in one year of hardly ever being used. I ended up having to switch them out to a different kit. I have spare ballasts, blubs and wiring if anyone wants spare parts..

do you guys use the standard plug-and-play hid kits, or do you get the full wiring harness?

do you use the bulb-out eliminator?
