Ok on to my next stupid question

How exactly do I reset the PCM? Just disconnect the battery? Or is there a process I have to follow to do it?

Thanks for the tips. I'll be getting a tuner in the next couple weeks, but I can use all the help I can get in the mean time.

Disconnect the battery for atleast 30 minutes, This will reset the computer and your truck will feel a lot different for about 500 miles.

Disconnecting the battery for 30 mins, then turning the igniton to try to start it with the battery disconnected will ensure the capacitors drain and all the power gets fully drained out of the whole truck.

I trick I learned a while back dealing with an Escape that had auto tranny shift problems.

Reset it and if it's still not good enough, go with a custom tune.
