Lift Options
Install = $650
5" Blocks = $125
Compliments from others = Priceless.
umm pylda you want to clear 33's right? cause clearing 35's requires a suspension lift or body lift around 6" for 2wd and you need new wheels for 35's oem rims are too narrow (some don't care though). put for the interest of saving money... I would buy the 2.5" autospring coilspacer from the guy on ebay that EVERYONE gets theirs from for like 90 bucks i think... put it on yourself... get an alignment... buy my rear lift blocks for 75 bucks and put em on yourself (way easier than the fronts)... get 33 AT or MT tires (nitto's, cooper, and many others are well priced.. get em at discount tire direct where you can haggle them way down and they install them for you cheap. the bilsteins are nice but expensive as well as the rancho QL and i cant imagine what the icons cost
Love your truck, I looked at it a few times while I was deciding on what I want mine to look like. I think I'm gonna wait a while to lift it again.
What amount of lift and what size tires (to go on my stock 18") would work with the following set up?
Front - Bilstein Shocks and 2" AS Spacer
Back - Bilstein Shocks and AS Blocks
They way Im figuring it, it would give me a 4" lift in the front and 3" in the rear.
Thoughts?

The wheels and tires I have on the truck right now were purchased by the repair shops insurance company because my original ones were stolen while at their shop. I originally had Helo Maxx 6's and Pro Comp Xtreme AT's on the truck. Total for those wheels and tires was $2100. Sometimes I wish I would have stuck with the Helo Maxx 6's instead of going with these KMC XD Monsters.

if you want about 4" of lift i think your out of luck... the only suspension lift that i know for 2wd is a 6" fabtech and actually i think JD fab/ camburg one of those high end makers that makes long travel systems (extremely $$$)
sooooooo yea, that would be MY own opinion....
What about me doing this?
Replace front stock shocks in my 2wd with these: http://www.newtakeoff.com/shockfront...5wbrleach.aspx
Replace stock 2wd rear blocks with these AS 3" blocks: http://www.autospringcorp.com/products/f150rearkit.htm
Question...can I replace my 2wd blocks with the 3' blocks that they make for the 4wd trucks?
What would this do for me, lift-wise?
Could I also add a 1.5' or 2' AS spacer to the front?
Could I fit 35' tires then?
Thanks again for all of the help. You guys rock!

yes on the shocks and the 3" block.
this will put you at stock height up front, and 1" taller out back compared to a OEM 4x4.
and since you don't have front 1/2 shafts, you can run a 2" or 2.5" spacer as well....btw, you shouldn't have any blocks on the rear axle if 4x2. the 4x4's have a 2" block
that will net you the same amount of height as my FX4 sits right now. 34/35" tires will fit for you then...might want some new rims though

Do I need to or would you do anything with the rear shocks?
rent a spring compressor.
download a leveling kit install instructions (this will detail how to remove the Coil-Over assembly from the truck)
remove the coil-over from the truck.
use the spring compressor to take the coil-over apart. discard the 4x2 shock and re-assemble with the 4x4 shock
slap it back into the truck.

Rear:
jack up the truck until the rear tires are about 3-4" off the ground.
Place the FRAME on jackstands.
Unbolt the 8 nuts for the axle
allow the axle to drop to the ground and remove the 4x2 u-bolts
use the new AS 3" block and 4x4 u-bolts and re-install the axle
torque it down
remove the vehicle from the jackstands and recheck your torque once weight is back on the axle

the rear install is really easy. about 1 hour if you are mechanically inclined. The front is about 1 1/2 hours each side just to get the coil-over in/out. Add about 1 more hour or more to disassemble the coil-over itself.
the more I think about it though, I think perhaps you should try the blocks and shocks first. then, go back later with a leveling kit if you need more. if needed, a 2" is about the max you should probably go though.
If you need a 2.5" leveling kit, i have one in my room i was going to install on my truck but i just bought a lift instead, PM me if your interested, im not looking to make any money off of it really ill sell it for 25 plus shipping.
But really you should just put these on instead of the spacer or struts!!!

Can anyone speak on the quality of the replacement shocks from newtakeoff.com that I listed a few posts up?
Is there a better site or better shocks to order that are made to replace the 4x4 shocks?
