Smile Whats the hardest install on the truck?...

What was the hardest thing that you installed on your truck. I.E. Lift, tonneau, Power steps...etc.

Honestly, mine so far has been that damn EZ Down. It took me like 2 hrs to take off the safety cable bolt. I had to take out the light and douse it in PB Blaster to have it even budge. The leveling kit was easier than this thing. Even changing spark plugs wasn't that bad.
I'm sure it would be my lift if i had one...

What about you?

Headers was a tough job for me. I put in the Banks Torque Tubes and cat back exhaust. The header R&R in shop manual calls for somewhere around 8 hours on one side and 6 on the other. It was very time consuming. Did not notice any seat of the pants performance gains or sound improvements. If I had it to do over again, I would skip out of the headers and just do the exhaust.

Other mods that were pretty straight forward:
Air Force One CAI
Remote Starter
MagHytec trans pan and rear diff cover
Gauges
Electric fans (still working on this project, electronics are all wired up, just need to pull the mechanical fan and drop in the new shroud)
Vent visors
Bug deflector

The long tubes where a pain in the ***! but they were worth the 25hp and 30tq I love that exhaust note.

I would say a fuel filter, but that would not be accurate, as I never got the old one off. Had to take it to a lube joint and they yanked the clip out of the line. I guess it would have to be the heavy assed 20" wheels and tires.

not even the lift kit itself, just dropping the top bolt on the front differential to get it out of its stock position. that was the hardest part of intalling the lift, everything else went smooth.

Physically speaking, replacing the front bumper with bumper&fogs was the hardest. It's a heavy beeyatch for a solo. Drilling the bumpers for the reverse sensors was mentally hard, because there was zero margin for error. Got a little nervous about that one.

drop hangers were a bitch, just because of what you have to do, but nothing has really been that hard.

changing to one step colder plugs. Then having 3 (stock) of them break. Then waiting on tool. Then ghetto rigging my own tool. 27 hrs.

I'd have to say my train horns. No instructions for them so had to figure out how and where i wanted to mount them, then how to run all the electrical. Worth every bit of time spent.
