Lifts, big tires and winter....

Hey guys...well winter is here in PA and its getting slick out.
I plan on getting a 6inch lift but im worried about running the wide tires in the winter. I've been running my 33inch 12.5 nittos and they scare me in this weather. THey are like skies on the snow being so wide. I currently just put on my stockers..Not sure if want to run my wheels in the winter either so i'm torn on what to do.
Do you guys with lifts and 35inch + tires have any trouble in the snow? I'm not worried about getting stuck i'm worried about control of the vehicle.

we got are first snow last week...wow that was fun about an inch of slush and nothing like fishtailing around corners going 40. i rolled my last lifted truck in the winter, you just gotta go extra slow and use both hands on the wheel. those damn tire tracks in the snow suck you in real quick, other than that its awesome running lifted trucks in the snow, god i love playing in the snow in winter someone kids never grow up

I don't mind the snow long as it's not packed down into ice. Ice absolutely throws me into paranoid mode because these big tires seem to magnify every bump increasing the sliding around. Anything else is pretty easy to deal with. I'm pretty lucky though cause I can travel gravel roads the majority of my way to work and long as the ditches aren't deep I'm enjoying it.

It's normal up here in central NH to see nicely lifted trucks running stock wheels/tires for the winter. Put your stockers back on with a decent set of snows or all terrains.

Most aftermarket wheel platings/coatings aren't durable enough to withstand the abuse winter road conditions and chemicals throw at them.

My first winter with the truck i had Toyo open country AT, real junk. I didn't like them during winter, i really didn't like them.

My second winter, i had Mickey Thompson MTZ, notice i nice improvement. A lot more traction in every situation, exept for ice... But even winter tire on truck don't do miracle on ice...

So don't be scare with MT, atleast MTZ are great during winter.
