Rear window or back cab noise

I have a 2004 fx4 supercab, and i have noticed lately a horrific rattle that i thought was the back window but then i checked it and its tight. I cant for the life of me find where its coming from, sounds like the drivers side rear cab somewhere. Anyone have this problem.

I have had the same noise. It almost sounds like the cable for the power sliding window vibrating.

On mine sometimes it doesn't do it at all. Then other days it makes me want to drive it into a lake. I worked at Ford and it had all th etechs scratching their heads. Replaced the track for the window which did jack.

Well i have a solid back window so its not the cable. I turned my subs on and stood outside and i think its the cab vent on the drivers side coming out the back. I dont know though because it sounds higher like the back window. And the only time it does it is when i let off the gas and im coasting down the road, as soon as i hit the gas my exhaust stops the rattle.

Another possible culprit is the headliner and there is a TSB regarding this issue. I used to have a rattle that got worse with colder weather. Insulated the liner and rattle was gone. Next project...fixing the rear-slider rattle.

Had mine in the shop for this issue once. It never got fixed. Its so annoying. Sometimes mine will rattle, and somtimes it won't, but if I open the rear window a small crack it seems to go away.

Well i think mine is definately coming from around the headliner and top of back window area. But i dont have a back sliding window so what is up there that could make a rattleing noise. Im seriously about to light it on fire its pissing me off so bad.

One thing to check before striking the first match, there maybe something between the cab and bed. I get this alto because I have to park under trees and several times a year get a twig in there and will drive me nuts until I get it out. Most of the time I can't see it and have to use a broom handle or something to get it out. I remember the first time it happened, took me a week before I realized what it was and the noise seemed to be coming from the whole rear of the cab everywhere. Other times it will be ice build up that causes the noise but haven't had that problem yet this year. What ever it is I hope you find the cause, I know how frustrating noises like that can be.

Wrong side of the truck, but I would check the jack. If the nut is a turn loose, it'll rattle.

Mine sounds like its coming from where the 3rd brake light is, i was thinking maybe the wires hit the roof when i go over bumps, but i can't confirm this becasue i siliconed my light to the truck. dope!
