FX4 Question
FX4 Question
Need a little help if someone has a minute to spare. I just put a deposit down on a 2005 FX4. Im going to be using it to haul my motorcycle around but dont know how long of a ramp I need to get it up. The site below has a calculator to help figure out what size ramp you need but the seller of the truck is away until the weekend and I want to order the ramp ASAP. So, if someone has a minute and a tape measure, can you please measure the distance from the floor to the tailgate(when down) like in this link? It'd be greatly appreciated

Again, appreciate any help

Welcome! You are on the Stuntlife forums too right? The screen name is very familiar.
BTW I have the same question since I haven't ordered my ramps yet either. If no one gets back to you by tomorrow I will measure my '04 FX4.

Yezzir I am. Thanks for the welcome. Cant wait to get this truck already. Its been waaaaaaay to cold to ride to spots - 25 degrees in NY right now. I sold my last truck that I had a carrier for so I could get this pickup and am trying to piece it all together. Whats your name on SL? Same as on here?
Loading a F4i streetbike which has a crash cage on it. Ive heard that with the straight ramps the cage will bottom out similar to what youre saying about the fairings but with an arched ramp I'd be okay? Is your ramp straight?
quick question for you
will this truck be staying at stock height? or will you be leveling the front?
if you level it, the rear end (tailgate height) will drop ~2" lower than stock...but the front will sit 2-3" higher.

Wow, appreciate it Tylus. Pictures and all lol. Seriously, thanks for your help. Now I gotta measure up my bike and figure out the size although based on what RMJeff said I should be fine with a 6' but at least I'll be able to confirm. Thanks again mayn. Ahhhhh I cant wait to get my truck lol
no problem
something else you can consider is removing your rear blocks. this will drop the rear 2" if you need the extra clearance with the ramp. lots of guys have done it with 0 problems. all you will need is some 2wd u-bolts for the 9.75 axle. pretty cheap mod...heck, I'll bet you some guys would trade you u-bolts/block for their 2wd stuff...= free mod

I've used an 8' straight ramp a few times and my R1 touches. An 8' arched ramp might just make it.
