2006 F150 grill question

I have a honeycomb style grill and have been researching getting it replaced. Are the bolt over grills as good as a complete replacement?

I would think that a bolt over would rattle and a complete replacement is a better option, but i was looking for some feedback from people who have replaced their grills.

I have an 06 Lariat w/ Honeycomb Grille and just got this on Ebay. Great price, great transaction. Roush Chrome Billet Replacement Grille.

^^Would that piece that you bought from ebay also work with an H-bar style grill. In other words, would it replace the H-bars and allow everything else to bolt up correctly?

I just can't understand if the H-bars are a completely different system or not? I can't see how they could be but every grill company seems to classify them separately.

I have done two of the replacement grilles (Carriage Works), one on an 2005 FX4 bar grille and an 06 lariat with the honeycomb. For the fords i say replacement is the best. Boltovers show the existing grille behind it and I dont care for the look. And as far as the rattling and stuff, as long as you get everything tight it should be good. Anyway hope that might help. i have a couple pics in my gallery.

their all the same mounting system

the H bar has the vertical bars...and the other grilles have horizontal bars. this is why they are classified differently

go with a replacement. 99% of the bolt-on grilles look pretty cheesy IMO...plus, the Roush one is only $99

Thanks for the answers. No way, I would do the bolt-on. Replacement all the way and the Roush does look good. Just ordered it for my 2006 KR. Worst case if I don't like it is selling it and buying an FX2 painted Arizona Beige.
