clearance lights required with bushwackers

i have long debated dodge clearance lights on my truck (just like tylus) but always feared looking like a "poser" with clearance lights on a half ton. after doing research however, i found that with the bushwacker flairs, my truck exceeds 80in wide and is required to have both front clearance lights and the three red marker lights under the tailgate. let me know what you think.

options:
-smoked dodge lights
-smoked gm lights
-no lights
(the ford ones are too big)

truck in question:

I would say only to put the three under the tailgate.

There you go. If you really feel that you want / need to put them on the front also then do it that way. Good thought.

you guys sure are picky about those clearance lights. they make a night/day difference in the trucks appearance.

so what if the F-150 is only a 1/2 ton. Nevermind that is is more capable than the 3/4 and 1 tons of 10-15 yrs ago.

Go for it....and maybe the Fire/Ice bar for the tailgate instead of just 3 marker lights

I think clearance lights rock when done tastefully. (Although, I think you are totally using this legal technicallity to talk yourself into another mod!! and that's awesome.)

i figured you would chime in. it looks great on your truck. if i do it it will be with your instructions.

i thought about that but i'm not really a fan of the fire/ice bar. it seems like unnecessary lighting where the three marker lights has a meaning.

I think that'd be awesome. I myself put a light strip under my tailgate that goes 49 inches across. And I put marker lights under my front bumper. Sure, it looks a little hick, but from a distance, it looks pretty awesome, both front and back.

NO NO NO!!! clearance lights have a time and place, and its not on your truck!! Its a beautiful truck that you have VERY tastefully modded, i just cant see clearance lights continuing this... I hate clearance lights on superduties too, they belong on big rigs at truck stops and thats the only place... No offense Tylus or thirdgenbird, its yall's money spend it how you like this is just my opinion..

You should see it at night. The video I put up doesn't do them justice. The truck was already imposing as hell for anybody infront of me...but now the Clearance Lights make the truck look bigger. I need to do 2 lights behind the grille, and then 2 on my bull bar. That would be a bright scene

on a side note, I went into a 6'4" Parking garage the other day. It was interesting to see the 1" of space my truck had between those lights and the ceiling. Scared the crap out of me when my antenna banged and I thought I had hit the roof

Do them like on the F150 Raptor. They have three small amber lights in the upper portion of their grille.
