You could go with the Sears Platinum, which is the Odyssey for a little over the $200 mark, with the same warranty as the Odyssey

I'm getting 4 to 5 years out of them and the last ones were at $79. I just change them out due to age as I don't want to be left stranded. The annual cost seems pretty low to me. I don't have any mods requiring extra juice and the 850 or so cold cranking amps do what I need.

Just get the best you can that fit's the wallet, and be happy with, that's all you can do. Also 'Bluejay' has a good and valid point, just plan on replacing it in 4 to 5 years to avoid the stranded effect. They are all somewhat of a crap shoot anymore anyway.

I may just get the Interstate this time around then eventually get the Diehard when it croaks. My dad has been discussing it with me. His 04 Cummins obviously takes two so 200-300 is easier to stomach than 450-500. There are so many interstate dealers around here, I'm not too worried about it. I think most towns here have a dealer or two of them.

The Interstate MTP-65 has 850 CCAs compared to the Kirkland's 900 CCA. The Kirkland has 36 months free replacement, 37-100 month pro-rated. The interstate has 30 months free replacement, 31-85 months pro-rated. The Interstate is $144, the Kirkland is $75.....Why would you buy the Interstate?
