I have the same leak, since it really doesn't rain here that much, I'm not going to replace it.

why did you get a new one? the Recon Smoked one is under $100 shipped.

I would have just gotten a new gasket and RTV'd it

I have to ship the truck in a week and I am about to take a road trip, time was an issue for me. Otherwise I would have looked at upgrading or money saving, but a brand new one for 50....

don't use silicone! when you take off the light to change a bulb it will bring the paint under it, around it, and near it, with it. plus it will promote rust!

My sons 3rd brake leaked He took it back to ford for the fix What a mess I took it all apart to replace it with a hella 3rd brake lite It took me 1 hour to scrape and peel away what ford used to seal the leak If any one has a leak on there 3rd brake lite I would go for an aftermarket replacement And do not forget to use the rubber washers that fit on the screws that holds down the 3rd brake lite
