New shoes!

Well my old tires finally got low enough for me to replace them. When I bought my rims, they had some used 295/45/20's that were a bit short and wide. I just got new Hankook Ventus ST's in a 275/55/20 that is a much better fit for this truck. Looks great with the drop shackles in the rear.

So if you're debating what size of tire for your 20's if you're at stock or just have a 2" drop in rear, these are great!!!

275-55/20 is the stock size with 20's. That's what I have on mine and I'm lowered 1/3 so my truck sits just like a 2wd with drop shackles.

maybe it's just me, but they look the same.

did your rear-end get a little slicker with the narrower tires?

I see what you mean when you look at the pics... and my wife said the same thing... but to me, it's night and day. Especially the width. The old ones protruded well beyond the wheel wells. There are some pics in my gallery where you can see that.

As far as slicker, are you talking traction? I haven't noticed any issues... I haven't driven in the rain yet but I'm thinking it will only be better and it was pretty good to begin with.

I'm talking about everyday driving. When I went from a 245 width to a 275 width on my Stang...I could barely do a proper burnout. You are effectively do the same in reverse.

I can spin my 275's on the FX4...so just wondering how that 1" less of rubber (x2) is affecting your launches?

I think that's offset by the higher profile... there's more rubber between the rim and the road, so more flex.
I haven't loaded my performance tune and I've never been able to burn out well without it, especially on the blacktop roads that are so common here.
Plus, my old tires were getting less grabby with age... so really, the new tires feel more grippy as of now...

>5000lbs truck + $4 gas + $4 gas = very light footed acceleration

I live plenty , not exactly sure how spinning my tires in my truck = living a little ? I grew out of the tire spinning phase shortly after high school. But, to each their own..........

PS: The stang, truck and wifes' car reside in the garage. It's the 35mpg Neon DD which sits on the driveway.

wasn't talking about spinning 'em on purpose. but I occasionally get onto it from a light or the highway. Gas is high, but I'm still going to have some fun with the truck
