It's on a sticker stuck to the PATS module(little black box) behind the back seat. Remove the back seat and the carpet on the drivers side and you will see it.

Also remember that once you program it, the original will always work, along with your new number. Only what you program can be erased. The original always stays.

You can get the dealer to pull the code from the computer for you. Most dealers will charge you to do this...

Or as it was said, you can remove the rear seat and read the code off the module on the back wall of the cab. That is what I did. Do a search on rear seat removal and read the tips and look at the pictures.

Everyone complains about how difficult it is to remove the rear seat. I got a buddy to help me, printed out two different tutorials on how to remove the seat back, told him all about how people say it is a PITA, we had the seat out in under 5 minutes. I'm not sure how they could make it much easier and have the seat back solidly held in position.

My buddy had the same problem after buying a used Fx4. Either get it from behind the back seat or the dealership will charge you about $85

I dont think autozone can pull that code, but its worth an ask. My Ford dealer hooked his laptop up to mine and pulled it for FREE. Stop in and ask the service manager he can do it in about 30 seconds. If he wont do it for free try another dealer.
