regulator finally went

so after 102k with regular window use I finally lost my driver side front window regulator

Is there a fix for it or do I need to just get a new regulator? I searched but just found countless threads of people moaning and groaning about their regulators and then had it replaced under warrenty

Ok it's a super easy fix I just went through it last week. Go buy a new assembly from the dealer (they always have a few in stock) Then just remove door panel, unclamp the glass and tape fully up in the door. Disconnect harness for the motor and unbolt the whole assembly. Just pull it out and slide the new assembly in. Now just untape the glass and slide the glass down into the clamps. Reconnect switch and roll the window up all the way. Tighten clamps down and check to see that it all functions correctly. Then just button it all back up and you are back in business. All in all takes 10min Note: there is a plastic film in the door. Just remove it and restick it when done. A new assembly is about $150 or something I think. Also the door panel does lift off, but you must take off the speaker panel and speaker to find those hidden bolts that hold it in place. There are bolts on the bottom of the door, behind the handle, behind the speaker panel, and also remove the speaker. I hope this helps. I thought it was all over when mine slammed down in the door, but turned out to be a quick fix

Yep. Easy fix. If you can wait a few days for shipping, you can buy the assembly online for about $90 shipped. I got both of mine from fordparts.com for that price.

Same happened to me, but it was just way easier to buy the new assembly. Watch out because usually the little POS gears in the motor get stripped because the cable binds up. Hopefully it will work, but don't get your hopes up

HAHA You've got class now?!? My, how things have changed in the last year.

Hope your fix lasts a while. At least it was something easily fabricated
