Bed rail came loose...

So i forgot to post this earlier when it happened. About 2 weeks ago i made the trek back to college which is only a two hour drive for me. Left town and everything was fine. Go the 2 hour drive and make it back to my house at college. Keep in mind i had the windows up for the whole ride cause it was hot as ***** out so i was cranking the a/c. After being back for about an hour i call some of my teammates to go see their new house and as i pull out i hear a rattling sound that sounds like my truck is falling apart. Windows down at this point so i look back and see my right side bed rail is shaking up and down. I stop thinkin it mightve come a little loose and that i could just tighten the bolt. No, the piece holding it to the bed broke and the only thing holding it from flying to the right was the long screw still in place. So i go to home depot which is only about 1/2 mile from my house and as i pull in i hit a bump, the screw flies out and the bed rail swings off the right side of my truck. Luckily it was right as i reached my destination because if it happened anywhere else it wouldve been bad news. The front screw was still in which held it to the bed but it swung completely out to the right so if anything was to my right it wouldve got smoked...simply $2 butterfly clip fixed the problem though....

Cliff notes for lazy people:
-Drove back to school
-Went to visit friends and realized my rigt bed rail broke loose on the back side
-Swung out to the right as i reached home depot
-$2 piece to fix what couldve been a major problem

I am thinking about getting mine painted, or replaced. The sun just tears them up.
