Documented Gas Prices Since July, 2006

Since someone out there cares, I plotted up the price per gallon I've paid for gas since 7/12/2006 to 8/28/2008 for my Ford and for my '92 Jeep Cherokee (daily driver). Kinda neat to glance and see what's been going on with gas prices...

These prices were *mostly* in the Atlanta area, some in St. Louis, and others along the I-24 corridor.

It would be interesting to plot the price of oil (per barrel) over the same graph and see if the oil trend is in line with the gasoline trend. I'd wager it isn't.

LOVE IT! only 214k on mine, but won't stop driving it until it craps out, but then i'll just put it in the driveway and think i'll fix it one day.

I need to get a paint job like your's.

Keeping track of # of miles, # of gallons, and price/gal is just a part of my bookkeeping. I haven't gone through and "really" entered the data since November, and November was the first time sorting it out (that was mind-numbing).

Just thought it was pretty interesting and I'd share.

Don't have the computer, but I do calculate tire rotations per month...

Just food for thought.. if your graph was a little longer.. you might notice a different trend..

Gas goes down during elections.. before the midterm elections, gas was near the $3 mark, and bam! right during September, it dropped.. then of course it went right back up.. but then.. bam! elections again.. and now gas is miraculously low again.. maybe it's just me.. but I forsee gas going back up soon enough..

Hey, I just noticed...your X and Y axis labels are wrong. Better switch 'em.

Got it for $1.749/gallon here today as well.

I check gasbuddy.com for local pricing.

Pretty interesting graph. Hopefully these fuel prices will stay somewhat low as they are instead of skyjacking out the roof again.
