Question Turn Signal shuts off Cruise Control?

I'm having a little issue and was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this.

I've got an '07 FX4 SC (had it for about 3 months) and just took it on a road trip from Abilene, TX to West Palm Beach, FL. Starting mileage was 15k, end was 18k. I was towing a Mustang on a trailer, and had a GPS (TomTom) plugged in for the duration of the trip.

That's the background, here's the issue I was having:

On my trip I tried to use the cruise control as often as traffic would allow. I'd be cruising along, go to make a lane change, and as soon as i hit the turn signal, the cruise control would shut off. It wasn't consistent, sometimes it would stay on, sometimes it would shut off, didn't matter whether it was left or right turn signal. Until I determined it wasn't consistent, I thought maybe it was a built in safety feature I hadn't heard about or something.
However, I am also experiencing a problem with a single window switch on the drivers door (the one that controls the front passenger window). Now I am thinking the two are related and I might have an electrical problem.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I'm probably going to take the truck in to the Ford shop tomorrow to have them look at it, but just wanted to be as educated as possible before going in.

Thanks for any help,
Rich

You have a brake light that's about to die/has burnt out. This happened to my 05 last road trip I took. Every time I changed lanes my cruise would turn off. After an hour or 2 my right brake light went out. Check all of your breaklights/turnsignals before you take it in.

cool deal, thanks! i hope that's it!
(still going to bring it in for the window switch, but this cuts down on the number of things they can mis-diagnose, lol)
