2004 xlt SuperCab Autolamp problems

I'm posting to see if anyone else has had their autolamps stop working? I was driving down town the other night and got pulled over for my healights not being on. (I hadn't noticed since the streets are well lit by street lights) I looked down and my headlight switch was in the auto position and they wheren't on. I pulled the switch out for the fog lamps in the auto position and nothing came on. So I turned my head lights on useing the **** and everything worked. I went to bed and went to work the next day and at night I checked the autolamps again and they still aren't comeing on. Anyone have this happen or know a solution? I've checked my owners manuel and my haynes book and nothing covers this. I've checked the fuses that I think might be responsible and all have checked out on the volt meter.

It likely has something to do with the sensor on top of the dash (where the blinking red light is). I haven't had this problem on my truck but that's where I would start.

This could be somewhere between the Sunload sensor on the dash and the BSM/VSM.

When the headlamps are in the auto position, the circuit is routed to the BSM and the BSM turns the headlamps on if the sunload sensor calls it dark enough.

One quick test is:

Remove the main headlamp switch from the dash.
Place black electrical tape over the sunload sensor on the dash.

Turn the headlamp switch to the auto position, and check for power on pin #1, Red w/ Yellow stripe wire, you should have +12 v
