this is prob a dumb question but why is a 4x4 front higher than 2x4?

okay so i can understand why it would be higher. my question is what components in the front suspension are made so that the front end sits higher. the rear has lifting blocks below the leaf springs so does the front have a bigger shock and spring setup? wondering because i am about to lower my 4wd f150 and im hoping with the drop its not gonna end up just being the same height as a 2wd. because if it is ill just give up right now lol.

also how many inches taller is the 4wd than the 2wd?

p.s. please no questions or comments about the fact that im dropping a 4wd lol that conversation has gone on in this forum for ages! haha

thanks guys i appreciate any help!!!

Front: 4x4 shock perch is 1" higher mounted than the 4x2 shock perch. otherwise are identical

Rear: 4x4 has the 1 5/8" tall block. 4x2 doesn't have it

no idea how far you can go. OEM 4x4 tires are 31 and 32" tall. so as long as they will stuff without rubbing, I think you'll find that frame is the lowest you can drop it. Drew has his lowered pretty damn far. Might want to PM him about it.

have you tried removing the rear block to see if that's enough?

Girl 1
has a perfect Rack but they cause her back problems so she is always in a bad mood...
Great to look at but you can't touch, play or have any fun with em...........

Girl 2
had a perfect Rack along with the same problems Girl 1 had before she had a very small reduction done.
Now she is always in a great mood, wants to be touched, loves to play and have fun.
