Seafoamed, now CEL

Just got done Seafoaming my truck, did it how I always do, through the brake booster line. 1/3-1/2 can, let sit for 10 minutes. Cranked and let idle for 15 minutes. Some but very little smoke.

Noticed the CEL is now on. Still idling smooth and throttle response is fine. Is this something I need to be worried about?

Full of? Not so much. Enough to maybe need cleaning? Possibly.

And what do you mean "got another one"? What code does it throw? I figured maybe it caught the vaccuum leak when I pulled the line.

it might be the lean code or a melted 02 sensor, misfire who knows. That stuff is junk. Go to there web site, pull the MSD sheet, isopropal alcohol, naptha and oil. You could pour water down the same hose and steam clean it. Everything that needs cleaned is above the intake

It probably has O2 stuck rich codes in it now. Seafoam tends to kill O2 sensors.

Don't use that garbage anymore.

"That garbage" did wonders on the 92'. I am hoping it just caught a misfire code. If nothing else I will have it read in the morning. After reading some, it seems the a CEL after this process, regardless of product used, is normal. Its sitting with the battery cable off right now. We will see of that does the trick.

Coonected that battery back, cranked and no CEL. Should have done that in the first place.

Like I said, we all have our opinions. I like it becuase it has worked for me, regardless of what is in it or isnt in it. I have used BG 44K and got simmilar results. To each thier own.

Pure junk. The best thing you can do to keep a modern engine clean and running right is to change the oil every 3-5K and use CLEAN good quality fuel. 99.9999999% of the time whatever carbon and deposits there are inside the engine are better off left alone. If you run a product like Seafoam through those deposits are loosened, picked up by the oil and carried down to the oil pan. If enough crap collects in the pan it can clog or block the pickup, restricting or even starving the engine of oil. Just do the recommended maintenance at the proper intervals and that's all it takes to keep a modern engine healthy.

Who knows, a few people cry foul and a few swear it's a miracle elixir. I think it works since I've heard more positives than negatives but I won't pour it in the intake or use the bbl. Just the tank for me.

At least people here think it's junk. A lot of guys on LS1tech.com think the stuff is great cause it makes the car smoke a lot. Seems to me that the seafoam is causing the smoke not carbon burning off but you can't convince them of that.
