Throttle lag trick! Takes 10 seconds!

I had a buddy tell me a good way to get rid of most of the throttle lag with out a custom tune. Basically you turn your key to the on position(truck off of couse), slowly push the gas pedal to the floor, once the pedal reaches the floor hold it there and look in the corner of the gauge cluster and you will see the check engine light start to blink, keep the gas pedal to the floor till the check end light stops flashing then slowly let the gas pedal up then start the truck. This lets the tps sensor know what wide open throttle is, most of the time you floor your truck even though you got the pedal down to the floor it doen't register wide open throttle causing lag, and actually is only giving you 85% wide open throttle. I did this on my 05 stang and it worked and I was sitting here bored and decided to try it 0n my 07 5.4 and it worked! I barely have to touch the gas pedal and the truck wants to move. Before I would have to press the gas pedal half way to the floor to get any reponse out of the truck. This little trick got rid of 85% of my throttle lag with out a tune! Give it a shot and trust me you will thank me later It really works And it's free For some of you that don't get the flashing light just put the pedal to the floor slowly and hold it there for 5 seconds then slowly let it back up.

I just went out cause i had to try this.

If i turn my key to ON. the E-brake light, the engine light, and the transmission(?) light stay on....

I did it anyway, saw no flashes fo anything. I did it three times,

Then i drove and i think there is a difference. But with things like this... it could all be in your head.

If anything a slight increase.

All your lights will stay on, when you get the gas pedal to the floor just hold it there then the light will start flashing, it may take a few seconds, on my truck the check engine light started to flash and when it stopped I let the gas pedal back up. Some on the other hand just turn your key on slowly push the gas pedal to the floor, hold it there for 3-5 seconds then let up slowly on the pedal It will work! And the more you drive and your truck learns the new postion the better it gets. Trust me I thought my buddy was crazy.

Yeah i did the later. I turned key to on. Ten took the pedal down slowly, waited 5 seconds, then let it back up.

I can hear my stock air filter more now though FYI

Lil off topic but it was nice meeting you JMBdevotee. I ended up buying a 3.5lb connector, extended slide/mag release, 2 Glock t-shirts, and 25 targets for 4 bucks.
