Tune up ADVICE...

Need some help here. My truck is going on 48,000 miles now and I have changed the oil religiously every 5,000 miles but have NEGLECTED everything else. What needs to be done or replaced by 30,000 and 50,000 miles that I missed? I bought new Motorcraft spark plugs, and a Motorcraft fuel pump for starters. I am also scheduled with a transmission shop to change the tranny fluid and filter on friday. Anything else? The belt was replaced with a Gatorback belt at about 15,000 miles. Let me know what you think...

why those 2? plugs not required until 100,000 miles and only do the pump if it's broke

fuel filter
air filter
transmission flush...only if you tow alot, otherwise don't touch IMO
axle fluid front/rear...don't forget friction modifier if LS diff
new oil change
top off fluids
brake
coolant
power steer
wiper

Its a 4.6 STX 4x2

I got an oil change on board already today. Going to do the plugs, fuel filter, air filter and transmission fluid on friday!

I have a Volant intake and am having a hard time finding a replacement filter. The intake filter has all 47,000 miles on it.

Porterfield pads are on order and am still looking for some rotor recommendations. My rotors are done as they have been grinded down to nothing!

ahhh...spark plugs make more sense now

just clean and re-oil the volant. you don't have to replace it

If you have the owners manual you should have a maintainence guide book in there too, check out what that says for the 50,000 mile mark.

Great idea. Will do that today. As you can see, I am negligent on the maintenence side of the truck.
