pocket flairs and a light bar

lately i have been bored with the way my truck looked and was thinking about adding unpainted pocket flairs and a black light bar with 4 6in lights. i dont want the flairs to dwarf my 33's but i need about 2in of coverage so stock flairs wont be enough.

truck:

lights:

and everyone knows what pocket flairs are

opinions please!

(edit: xlt mirrors are on the list of things to do, i'm just waiting for 2009s)

Not a fan of the pocket flars..
The truck is looking good though.

I know you said pocket flares, but I have a set of Xenon smooth fender flares in gloss black that I had ready to put on my truck before it was totaled. If your interested, let me know.

Here's what they would look like......

I will keep that in mind. a buddy of mine is a bushwacker dealer so he is getting me a set of pocket flairs that i can hold up to the truck. if i decide not to go with them i may look into my other options.

Does that light bar get rid of your tow hooks?

no, the light bar mounts to the frame through the big hole in the middle of the bumper.

I wouldnt do any flairs unless they where stockers, and i make them ptm. Also you might consider a black billet grille and putting the lights behind your grille unless you where dead set on a light bar... Just my opinion tho.. truck looks good so far

EDIT: how the mods you suggested would look....well the pocket flares dwarf my 37's so think of them with 33's. Also I would not do the large pocked flares, etc without a larger lift or larger tires. The light bar is a toss up, i prefer the lights behind the grille, but many lately have added light bars. if you did the light bar get it and the lights in black.

here is a pic, im not biased to anything i mentioned tho.....

thanks for the great feedback fx4life!

i've looked at your truck a lot in the last several days. i'm not sold if its your flairs that dwarf the 37s. i think it just may be the massive amount of lift you have on there i "think" 33s may be ok because there tucked up in the wheel wells a lot farther. in my opinion stock flairs wouldnt be worth the price and effort as they wont cover my tires

as for the lights behind the grille, on your truck it looks great and i have thought about that as well but if i do add pocket flairs i think a light bar would help add to the rugged "i am legend epedition" sort of look.

None of the above.

PTM handles, bigger Mirrors and an HD or Saleen grille.

very true.. I cannot get these 37's to wear down tho ive got about 20k on them now and they still look brand new. I didnt think about everything looking "snug" on your truck, after thinking that it would probably look pretty good. I see what your vision is with the light bar also.

Not sure if you would be interested in this setup, but i did a car show with this dodge recently and he had a different lightbar/tire rack setup in the bed. I liked it but didnt think it went well with my truck. you might look into it tho if you wanted rugged.

i'm not sure PTM handles fit the black theme i'm going with
bigger mirrors will be on as soon as i can get 2009s
and i'm still thinking about the saleen grille

I think were on the same wavelength now. i have actualy seen that light bar and have thought about it. but my biggest fear is getting too much stuff tacked onto the truck. i like how clean the light bar looked on Pimprorhs truck while still giving it a tough look. currently my thoughts are that lights behind the grille may be too clean and the "overhead" light bar may be too over the top with my setup.
