There isn't any inspection here in SC. It's all legal if you don't get caught

Jesse101, do you have any pics of what you did?

Here are some pics. All I did was buy 2 peices of pipe that were 18" long and had a flare at one end, 2 connecters that were flared at each end, and 6 exhaust clamps. I cut out the rear cats then measured the distance of pipe I cut out. Then I just cut down the 18" pipe to this measurement and put it all together.
18" pipe - 2.5 I.D. to 2.5 O.D.
Connecters - 2.5 I.D. to 2.5 I.D.

You only have 2 cats. There are no forward cats. By doing this it will lower your backpressure. This will hurt performance and decrease your fuel economy. You would probally be better off to just remove your muffler and not run the risk of getting fined.

Best I recall, in 06, ford went to running only 2 cats.... Maybe I'm wrong.

On my 04, there were 2 sets of cats.

Cutting the two rear cats off will have no effect on back pressure and will not hurt mileage.. Driving normal on the highway to andd from Virginia, I logged 18.2 MPG WITHOUT my rear cats.

If it hurt my mileage, I didn't notice it.

AND NO CODES!

I felt a little gain in hp and a very huge noticable gain in sound. There are also 4 cats. 2 on the right and 2 on the left. You can see the one cat, still installed on my truck in one of the photos above.

halfway through 04 they went from 4 to 2 cats. it might have even been in 05, but i can't recall. what most shops don't realize is that the last two cats aren't monitored. theres an o2 sensor before and after the first cats, but nothing after the rears. If the shop knew anything, they would've realized this and done it without a problem. the truck will pass inspection, without a problem. unless the kid at the inspection booth knows his a$$ from a gopher hole, he won't know what that length of pipe is.

I'm nearly positive it was mid way through 05 that they switched to two larger cats.
