This would only apply if you intend on turning the repairs in on your own insurance.

If I remember correctly, you just got this truck a few months back. Are you that much disappointed with your truck that you don't want to keep it looking it's best? If you let stuff like this slip, your liable to be labeled by members on this board as just some other materialistic punk kid that doesn't take care of the things.

The school cop is only wanting an estimate so that he can complete his paperwork and assess how much damage was done. Your not bound to using this estimate.

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn how these legal matters are handled and how much of an inconvenience they can truly be.

Go get the estimates from reputable collision repair shops and make sure you include the cost of a rental car for you to use while the shop has your truck for repairs and paint.

i dont know how the laws work in your area but all insurance companies recommend certain shops because the get cheaper rates and if you need parts replaced they will tell the shop to use junkyard parts.i have been there and done that.the state of louisiana has it to where you can take your vehicle to anyshop you want for an estimate and repairs.i had some woman hit my mustang and i have a friend that owns a bodyshop.well the insurance company told me that i have to bring the car to them and i have to go to their shop.well my friend called the insurance company for me and he told them how its going to work and told them they are going to him.will he and the adjuster argued the whole job because they wanted to repair a panel instead of replace and then when they agreed to replace they tried to tell him the he had to use a junkyard part.in the end my friend won and did the work correctly with the ford part and he got paid.thats why i also never accept a check i let the body shop deal with the insurance.if you have a buddy that owns a body shop go to him and make sure he is there for the estimate as well.

I had to have my tailgate painted a few years ago due to a dent from a trailer coming unhitched. Paint matched just fine. Total cost was $125 cash money with no paper work, no insurance. Money went straight to owners wallet.

The easy thing about the tailgate is you can take it off and leave it at the body shop and still have the use of your truck. Takes about a minute to take off the tailgate with two people.

i cant really do that because i saw when i got home from work that the edge of my front bumper is chiped also, rocks literally went everywhere, there were a total of 5 trucks damaged including mine, so he is gonna hit hard for the stunt he pulled. maybe he was mad at all the fords lined up in the parking lot? hahaha
