sounds like you need a big brake kit installed.no replacement brake pads will hold up against trying to stop a 7k pound truck and 8k trailer.

Is it even legal to tow that much weight w/out trailer brakes??? I tow a 7300 lbs travel trailer, and I couldn't even imagine what it would be like without the trailer brakes. No way I'd do that!

Nevermind, I answered it myself. According to Georgia's DMV website, all trailers in excess of 3000 lbs must have trailer brakes.

IMO it is just plain irresponsible for people to recommend brake upgrades for his truck when he doesn't even have trailer brakes! The best (i.e. legal, safest, responsible, etc) "upgrade" for him would be obtaining trailer brakes. Anything less and he shouldn't be on the road. Thank goodness he's not near me!

It's pretty good, depending on what pads you're getting. You've got to remember low dust means you're reducing performance. Strictly performance pads will increase dust. It's a trade off.

The powerslots are on backorder for your truck right now, so unless you find somewhere that still has stock in it... you're out of luck. I'd recommend going with stoptech which is essentially the same rotor with a different protective coating on it. A perfect match for those pads is the centric posi quiets, but if you want to go with hawk i can do that for you as well. Just let me know when you're ready, as I can beat most anywhere for prices, including tire rack and auto anything.

Powerslot was bought by Centric Parts (maker of stoptech) and they are "rebranding" right now. They havent made any new "powerslot" rotors the new F150's yet under Centric.

I just put new pads and rotors on this weekend. I used Wagner Thermo Quite pads and Wagner rotors....was a little pricey at around $200 but I like that my truck is no longer making any noise and will stop on a dime again.

I still stand by the Centric Posi quiets, and if you are making metal-metal contact you will most likely need new rotors.

I dont know what kind of price range you are looking at for this, but if you went with the stoptech stage 2 kit with slotted rotors and new pads all around, I can guarantee youw ill be impressed with the braking difference.
