Question Tail Light Removal Help Requested....

Hello

I cracked my right-rear tail light lens/cover yesterday -- Doh -- and need to replace it.

Does the lens/cover simply snap on and off? There are 2 bolts inside the tail gate, but they look like they secure the entire corner.

I'll visit a bookstore this weekend, but if one of you could help I'd be grateful.

Thanks,

Phil

yes you rmeove those two bolts. Their are two bolts for each taillight assembly.

After you take off the bolts, the light assembly will still be stuck in there because there are rubber pieces that are holding them in. You have to get a large screwdriver or prying device(preferably plastic to not scratch up the paint) and pry the assembly towards the rear of the truck. After you pry it about 0.5" it should snap out of the fittings.

You cant replace just the lense, you need to replace the whole fixture

Just dig your fingers in at the front edge and back lip and pull. Screwdrivers don't belong near painted parts.
