different bed extenders for different body styles? need help quick

i bought a bed extender on ebay and it was listed for a 2004 f150. the seller said it was on her husband f150 which she didn't say it was a supercab or screw or a flareside bed or whatever.

i got the extender and my 5.5 box on the screw form is way too wide for this extender. i could almost say its almost the same size as my sport trac one but i know its not cuz i use to be able to completely hide the sport trac one with it standing up and this one stick outs.

could you guys help me figure out if a supercab and screw have different width beds and possibly different bed extenders? or are they the same and the only difference is when you got a flareside bed! thanks guys.

good thing is that the seller is gonna refund the extender price because she listed it as a f150 extender but she also listed a part number which references to a sport trac and she just made up the part number because she can't find it (either can i).

thanks alot guys, hopefully you can help
!

there are 2 different F-150's for the year 2004. older ones are called Heritage. I'm betting the bed extender you bought is for a 2004 Heritage F-150. the 04+ F-150 is physically wider and the bed is 6" deeper than earlier models. hope this helps. I suggest you re-list the bed extender for a 97-04 F-150 and/or put it on Craiglist. those things are popular

below are 2 pics of Scabs from each style. Both of these trucks belong to members of F150online.com (hope y'all don't mind me using your pics)

the 97-04 body style which has rounded fenders

the 04+ body style which has squared fenders and cutouts on the doors by the mirrors

crap, I forgot the step-side truck has a different width tailgate from the normal bed. That may also be the case...and then the bed extender you have could be for a 04+ F-150

what did the eBay chick say?

is this thing a Ford part? or aftermarket

your best bet is to go down to a dealership and just compare it. I'm almost certain they'll have 1 or 2 of the old body styles and multiple of the new ones...that way you can get it 100%
