Alarm/Lights

I need a little help.
I had my alarm from my old ford put in my new one.
I told the place that installed this alarm that I wanted all the lights to light up when I disarm the alarm.(headlights, taillights, puddle lights,interior,ect.,ect.) Just like when you use your remote from the factory.
Well I had to go back twice to get this to work.
Every light lights up and stays lit for 30-40 seconds and then go out. The only lights that don't are the tail lights.
They tapped right into the headlight switch wiring harness with two relays. This made everything work except the tail lights. They just blink, but do not stay on.
The wire they tapped into was red with a yellow stripe.
My question, Is there another wire they should have used or should there be another wire to tap into.
My 2005 had the same alarm and all the lights lit up and stayed lit for 30-45 seconds. So i know this can work.
I figured if anybody knew anything about alarms they could help or give me some info.
Maybe I can get this to work myself.
Thank you

If you want the running lights on instead of the headlights, take the wire off of the red/yellow wire and tap it into the brown wire that they tapped into at the headlight switch (this wire will only show 12 volts when the parking lights are on). You should put a diode in that wire but its not TOTALLY necessary. If you want BOTH the headlights and the parking lights, you really need another relay.
