Gas Mileage?

I currently have a 2005 supercrew 4x4 with 22" rims on 32" tires with a leveling kit and flowmaster exhaust with the 3.55 gears and the 5.4 v8 and im only getting about 12mpg does this sound correct? what is everyone else getting for mileage?

Sounds about right, the 22's are killing your mileage. But hell, I have 18s and 33s with the 5.4/3.55's and only get 14-15 mpg.

Gas went up to 3.85 a gallon, I quit calculating mileage. It got to be too painful.

if 20's and 22's hurt mileage that drastically (which i'm of the opinion that they probably do, but not to the degree that most posters say) why doesn't ford adjust EPA advertised estimates on the sticker of their trucks with 20's and 22's?

20's and bigger rims DO NOT HURT MPG. the weight of the rim affects MPG.

so if you buy heavy *** rims, then expect lower MPG. the 20's weigh pretty much identical to the 17/18's. that's why they are rated the same. if you buy a high quality alloy rim, it will weigh less and therefore have less rotational weight.

They don't make a difference.

Stock 17s with stock tires - 15mpg....

Aftermarket 17s and 33s - 15mpg....

Stock 20s with stock pirellis - 15mpg...

Atleast it's consistant.

WOW somethings wrong with that. my screw was knocking down a constant 17mpg overall (3.55 gears, 5.4, 4.4, 265/70/17 BFG's) i only drive it to work, 10 miles one way and occassionally outta town (less that once a month)

stock 20's weight almost 10 more pounds a rim that stock aluminum 17's. i've had both.

04 SC w/3.55,s and 5.4 and I feel lucky to get 11 mpg. All stock, maybe that's why. Right now, 95% in town. Heading to Yellowstone soon and I expect at least 17 mpg on the highway. But this sucks right now.

I drive close to 100 miles a day on my commute, consistent 16 to 17mpg. Flat highways with a mostly 55 mph limit. Have gotten over 18 mpg on a straight interstate run. Cruise set at 67 mph in a 70 stretch. I can't complain about my truck's gas mileage!

06 FX4 w/ 5.4 3.73 gears

city only 12 mpg, mixed 15 mpg. what the heck are you doing to get 9-11 mpg? Need to lay off the throttle or buy a muscle car
