Drop and Fuel Mileage?

I wonder if dropping yields better fuel consumption numbers...

Anybody have any input?

This could be my way of getting my truck layin lower.

listen, bring nascar into it. sounds like your trying to prove it to your wife. draw your truck and show her the aerodynamical difference and it HAS to improve gas. also, it's lower so it's easier for her to get in, more convenient to take out armadillo's (lifted trucks go over them without the pleasant sounding THUD). also, in winter time you can use your truck to push snow!! there's LOTS of good reasons to lower it! get a bedcover like mine and take her out to the middle of nowhere one night...she'll LOVE it.

lifting causes MPG drops because you are exposing more surface area to wind...and usually bigger tires

dropping doesn't really cover up any peices of the drivetrain that aren't already covered.

sorry, but no help there.

why not just explain that dropping your truck is cheap, and most cases under $200. 4x4? remove your rear block (1-5/8" tall)

Not 4wd either - I wouldn't be dropping that's for sure..

you looking to slam it? or just make the rear-end leveled out?

I had no idea a kit to slam it was in that price range. just leveling it out though isn't bad. there are few slammed trucks floating about that are just amazing looking...and a few 4x4's that have been leveled from the rear that look pretty nice as well

Looking at either 2/4 or 3/5. I made some measurements a while ago, and I'm leaning towards more drop..

I'll probably just do a shackle to start, and buy the other stuff in pieces.

Can't exactly afford everything all at once.

understand you 100% on that...luckily a lot of the mods that are available for these trucks can be stacked together.

Look at eibach. Below is a 2/4 spring kit for less than 5 bills, for example.
